It has taken me a long time to find products which agree with my skin and actually help it. I think this is down to having more of a combination skin (oily t-zone and drier cheeks). At the moment my skin seems to be clear and responding to the products I am using.
First up is my ‘go to’ cleanser the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I have been using this since I was about 17 and worked in John Lewis, where I first bought it. I am always loyal to this product. I use this cleanser to wash my face in the morning and always use it to take off my makeup in the evening. I remove it with the muslin cloths that come with the cleanser. I like this as it’s reasonably quick to use and breaks down any makeup I am wearing. In the morning I will go straight onto my toner but in the evening I will use do a second cleanse with something like the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm as it seems to get the remainder of my makeup off and moisturises my skin. After cleansing I use the Simple Soothing Facial Toner. I apply this using a cotton wool pad and wipe it over my face. This removes any last little bits of makeup. I have never been loyal to a specific toner but I have used this on and off for a while as it is affordable and doesn’t irritate my face like others do. Onto moisturiser-I use the Liz Earle Skin Repair Light Moisturiser for Oily and Combination skin. I like this as it keeps the dry areas at bay but does not seem to make my t-zone too oily before I need to apply my makeup.
For eye cream I have been using the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. I love this stuff! I got a pot for my birthday in 2015 and it lasted until my birthday in 2016! Before I discovered it I found my eye area was getting sore and dry in the winter months. This product solved it within a couple of days use. As the name describes it is very creamy and quite a thick consistency so I find a little goes a long way. I think it is great for soothing your eyes especially if you wear a lot of eye makeup in the day.
The last couple of products are ones that I use every few days rather than on a daily basis. Both were discovered in my M&S beauty advent calendar! The first is the Alpha H Liquid Gold with Glycolic Acid. I use this some days instead of my toner and sweep it over my face using a cotton wool pad. It appears to make my skin brighter and I think helps to clear my pores.
The last product I wanted to mention is the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil. Some nights I have been using this as an overnight treatment instead of my normal moisturiser. I only apply a thin layer. In the morning my skin feels super smooth and soft. I also like using it on dry patches of skin on my hands and arms. You only need a little bit each time you use it so I do not see this running out anytime soon!
Those are all of the products I am currently using!
